Mobimar Ltd. is a project-based boatyard and engineering company. Because we feel that only our own designers have the ability to know the scope of documentation really needed in our production, we prefer projects, in which we can fully adapt our own know-how. Being project-based also means that we have mostly prototypes to design. Designing a prototype so that both the project schedule and project budget are met places hard requirements for the designers.

We started using 3-dimensional CAD already 1997, being then among the first in our field.

When we send a shaded 3-dimensional picture with a quotation, it is already based on a 3D model. When we receive the order, the fundament for further design work has already been laid, so we do not need to start from zero. All the drawing information is stored in the database and any minute changes somewhere in the project automatically update the 3D-model.	Aluminium/glass dome for CCL and Costa cruising ships
All the stages of a design project, basic design, FEM-analysis or workshop drawings, are made within the same set of tools, which minimizes mistakes like dimensioning or collisions. We can also walk our production team inside the 3D-model and make installation planning already on screen Later in the project, if a client needs shaded color models to assist choice of a paint chart, the task is fast and straightforward.
Towing tank tests are carried out in the local marine laboratory.
