FLOATING SEPTIC TANK SUCTION STATION
Since 2005 septic waste of pleasure boats is not allowed to be led into water in the territorial waters of Finland (=12 nm from the nearest shore). Consequently, all new pleasure boats shall be equipped with a septic tank, which has increased demand for discharging stations in marinas and boat harbours.
To meet this demand we have developed a floating discharging station for septic tanks of private boats. It can be anchored at the entrance of a harbour, where it is easily accessible and cues can be avoided. In the development we have consulted Keep the Archipelago Tidy Association.
The station is made of marine quality aluminium, which is light, strong, recyclable and unlike GRP - not hygroscopic. The empty weight of the station is about one ton and it is easy to handle with a small crane.
For the user the station is stable, safe and easy to use. A boat can be fastened on each side and emptying the septic tank with the powerful hand pump only takes minutes. The deck is high enough even when the tank is full and it stays dry also in seaway.
