WHAT IS A MACHINERY TURNKEY DELIVERY ON A FINNISH SHIPYARD?

Development of the presently used Turnkey Installation method was started at Turku Shipyard in the 80's. The main goal has been more reliable budgets and easier control of the shipyard's own capacity.

Project timing

The tight manufacturing schedule allows no delays and therefore the project timing is in the key role. We supervise the project with our own project planning system and report our progress weekly to the shipyard's system, from which we receive a regular feedback.

Design

Only high quality design guarantees that the time schedule and the budget can be kept. We make all the needed lay-out and work drawings for mechanical, piping and electrical installations at our design department with Pro/ENGINEER®, State of the Art 3D CAD program. 3D design even helps us to make installation planning on screen!

Prefabrication and installation

All the systems are installed as early as possible, the first large pipelines already into steel sections. The expensive installation aboard a newbuilding has to be kept to the minimum and therefore we use extensively prefabricated part assemblies, such as complete pump and valve units and pipelines, which are made at our own workshop. This is the stage that we try to enlarge project by project.

Materials

Purchase of special materials is usually included in the turnkey delivery contract. As a turnkey supplier we have access to the shipyard's material system and can use all the needed Standard materials in the Shipyard's store.
