FLOWRIDER® FAT ACCEPTED
At the end of August RCCL (Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines) and Meyer Werft were invited to Mobimar's production facilities to follow the factory acceptance test (FAT) of the FlowRider® steel frame.
The FlowRider® unit will be assembled onboard the newbuilding Nr. 697. This cruise ship - Quantum of the Seas - is under construction in Meyer Werft's shipyard in Papenburg, Germany and the delivery will take place in November 2014. Royal Caribbean has also ordered the seven earlier surf machines that Mobimar has built since 2004 for Freedom and Oasis Class cruise ships under the license of Wave Loch Inc.
Wave Loch Inc. is the owner of the FlowRider® trademark. Together with them Mobimar will now build six more surf machines to be installed in Royal Caribbean's fleet. In addition to the Quantum Class ships by Meyer Werft, Mobimar will make the FlowRider® revitalizations for the existing Voyager Class fleet (built in Turku 1999 - 2003).
These FlowRider® deliveries will secure Mobimar's personnel a good workload for the next two to three years.
